Lacey Love

As summer sizzles to an abrupt end (I say abrupt because the weather has already dabbled into the mid 40s the past few mornings), it's time yet again to dig through the old wardrobe and transition into your fall wear. I love re-discovering old pieces that I haven't seen in months and finding ways to work them into my everyday look. One of my favorite pieces to incorporate into my fall style is this army green draped vest. Not only is it one of my favorite colors to wear, but it's a great layering piece to throw over almost anything. It's light weight feel and versatility make it an easy item to style and the perfect outerwear for early fall...since the weather can be so unpredictable from day-to-day. Place this vest over a basic, neutral colored tee or a playful detailed top, like the crochet details I included in my look. Finish the look with a pop of color, such as a red bag, and bronze jewelry.

Boyfriend Button Down

I love when my boyfriend gives me his clothing, and, naturally, I always find myself in it. Since his clothes fit me loosely, I try to find ways to style my newly acquired pieces without looking like I am drowning in them. Aside from a charcoal grey v-neck, this plaid flannel is by far one of my favorite shirts. It's perfect for fall. But I don't want to wear it only in the fall. So here is how I paired my boyfriend (literally) button down on a rainy summer afternoon.

Purple Haze

Unbearable heat makes for unbearably HOT looks. This '60s-esque three-quarter sleeve blouse, from Nasty Gal, offers the perfect, relaxed feel that will allow you to take on whatever temperatures summer may throw your way. My favorite feature on this top is the lace patch work on the sleeves, mid-section, shoulders, and lower hemline. I also love the way it billows around the sleeves and waist line, making for a flattering triangle shape from my hips down. Pair this top with high waist shorts and chucks by day, and easily transform the look by pairing it with dark wash skinny jeans and nude pumps by night. With a heat approved blouse like this, you, flower child, are on your way to harvesting a summer of peace and love...well, at least you'll look the part!

Maroon in Morocco

For my ninth visit to Disney World I really wanted to bring my personal style into the parks, instead of the regular touristy attire. Yesterday I wore a flowy skirt from PacSun and a lightweight collared Nasty Gal blouse while we toured the World Showcase because the weather was in the mid 90s. I love both of these items! They offer a lot of movement for walking around in the heat and they're super comfortable. Here are some shots of how I paired these two pieces for our day in Epcot.

Casual Dinner

Every time we come to Florida we stop at our traditional dining spot: Miller's Ale House. This sports bar is a casual neighborhood-style tavern. For this family outing, I wanted to wear light layers that allowed me to stay cool and comfortable while out in the Florida heat. Naturally, I went with my favorite floral print bodycon dress, flip flops, and a denim vest. I purchased this dress a little over a month ago from Forever21 for only $10, and I have already gotten my money's worth from how many times I have worn it. This dress features a racerfront neckline, floral pattern, and stretch-knit flexible fabric. While I styled this look casually, it can easily be dressed up by pairing it with neutral colored heels and pops of gold accessories.

"I Got U"

Looking for the perfect summer song? Duke Dumont has it. Duke Dumont's song "I Got U" featuring Jax Jones was at the top of the charts in Ireland back in April. I happened to be listening to the radio at a pristine time, just as they played a snippet of the song. Instantly, I fell for its upbeat dance style and summer feel. Be sure to check out the video above and download the song off of iTunes to kickstart your perfect summer playlist.
